How many players will be participating in IPL Auction 2024?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has revealed the final list of players for the IPL 2024 auction ahead of the 2024 season. A total of 333 players, including 214 Indians and 119 overseas players, was part of the auction took place in Dubai on December 19. Among them, there are 116 capped players, 215 uncapped players, and 2 from associate nations.

The ten franchises participating in the Indian Premier League 2024 season have retained a total of 173 players in preparation for the IPL mini-auction 2023, was convened at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, and Sunrisers Hyderabad have individually retained 19 players, while Kolkata Knight Riders have kept 13 players. The overall expenditure to retain these 173 players amounted to ₹737.05 crores.

Only 77 slots are available in total, 33 of which will be allocated to players from other countries. But there’s no denying that the auction will be a fantastic show, given the impressive list of players that includes Travis Head, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Daryl Mitchell, Wanindu Hasaranga, Lockie Ferguson, Shardul Thakur, and many more.
